Network Training

If you are working for a company with at least 20 employees, chances are your company's computers are all networked together. According to webopedia a network is a group of two or more computer systems linked together. And just like any other system, this has to be maintained for it to keep working flawlessly. We all know how important computers are in the work place and we need to know what the network does for us. Just to name a few, the network allows you and other computers to go online. The network allows you to share resources like files and printers. And everything connected to this network needs to be maintained. Basically, you maintain those files that you share with your colleagues. Your internet service provider maintains the internet connection of your company. But who maintains the network?

The network is normally maintained by IT technicians. These are people with computer network training. For small networks with five or so computers, anyone with basic computer and network knowledge can maintain this. Look at your home network, it's fairly easy to maintain and needs little to no network training to setup. For those interested in maintaining and managing bigger networks there are a lot of training courses available like the CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate). This is pretty much the basic of setting up and maintaining a Cisco based network. But this is also applicable to most networks regardless of the hardware you intend to use.

Network trainings are provided in most computer schools. As network training is taken mostly by professionals who want to broaden their knowledge, the schedule for these trainings is often very flexible. It can range from an extensive one week training to lectures done once a week in a span of a few months. Other schools also offer boot camps which are normally fast paced review class for those intending to take the certification. There are some websites that also offer online network training. Some prefer to take this as a cheaper option and you can learn at your own pace. Most people go through an online network training before joining a class because it becomes easier for them to understand the lecture if they have already done some reading about the topic.

Once you enroll for network certification training, you attend lectures about setting up and maintaining networks. You also get some hands on experience at setting up a network and all the devices and hardware and software needed for a network to function properly. After which you take a certification exam, which, when you pass certifies you to be a network professional of some level. These exams are often taken very seriously because of its difficulty, the price of the actual exam and the effect it can have to one's career since network administrators and technicians are sought after by major companies, if the certification is successful.
